Reflect Update: In-line voice transcriber and chat improvements
Every day we find ourselves typing less and speaking more. Transcribing your voice is far preferable to typing. It’s faster, more enjoyable and captures your natural language.
For the past few weeks we’ve been testing an in-line voice transcriber for Reflect that lets you insert the transcription anywhere within your notes. Today we’re releasing it, our best-in-class voice transcription.
We’ve also been improving the app in other ways. Reflect’s AI chat feature now uses Gemini. This allows us to feed a lot more notes into the chat for context, which has heavily improved the results. Try asking it for an overview of everything you’ve written over the year, for example.

🎙️ In-line Voice Transcriber

Reflect has added an in-line voice transcriber that lets you add voice transcriptions anywhere within your notes.
To use it on Mac, either press the Option key twice or Option + Space and start speaking. On Windows computers press the Alt key twice. Make sure your cursor is where you want the text to go! The transcription will happen in real-time as you speak. When you’re done speaking, just use the same shortcut again.

Note that using the original voice transcriber microphone next to the search box (or using the + button on the mobile app) will still have the voice note land in your daily note.

🗣️ Gemini added to AI chat

We’ve started using Gemini to power our AI chat feature that lets you chat with your notes.
Gemini has a context limit of 2 million tokens vs. the 128k cap from OpenAI and Anthropic. This means it can take in a LOT more of your notes as context for the chat, which drastically improves the results.
Give it a try by selecting all of your daily notes over the past year and ask it to summarize everything that happened and you worked on.
