July is turning out to be a speed-themed month for Reflect! We've got a major new mobile app update to share with you.
I’m obsessed with Reflect’s mobile app speed. Especially the first load. If there’s too much friction there, people will just head back to native apps like Apple Notes.
Today’s release gets us close to native speed.
What changed? For the last month we’ve been working on a new state of the art in-memory database. This technology lets us handle much larger graphs, while at the same time keeping the speed of in-memory access.
In practice, you'll notice:
- Much faster startup time – depending on how many notes you have a 2-3x decrease in the time it takes to launch the app.
- No more mobile reloads if you have a large graph
The same technology applies to our desktop app too, so you will notice performance improvements there as well, especially on older devices.
To get the new update, just open and refresh Testflight.
